The answer is not so easy to understand. Technically yes Medicare will pay for portable oxygen but the reimbursement is the same as oxygen tanks. So the costs of the equipment far exceed the costs of tank delivery and as a result, alot of companies can't afford to substitute a portable oxygen machine instead of tanks. That's not to say that you can't ask, just that the answer may not be what you were wanting to hear. But yes some do offer portable oxygen concentrators , company policies, time periods all vary.
